When I decided at the beginning of April 2025 that I was going to become a truck driver, it all started with one thing: psychological tests.

I had to visit a psychologist to determine whether I was fit to work as a professional driver. These truck driver psychological tests were my first real step into a completely new life. And I remember it very clearly.

The moment before

I still have a video saved from that day. I’m clean-shaven, dressed nicely, wearing a shirt. But most importantly – I’m excited.

I’m stepping into something completely new. A whole different world. And that’s exactly what I love about this life – everything connected to trucking was completely new to me.

No background / experience. Just a fresh start.

The way there

I took a bus. Got off, walked toward the clinic, taking photos of everything. That kind of feeling… when you know you’re at the beginning of something big. I walked in. And that’s where it all began.

The test that decides

First some basic questions. Health, mental state, if I’m stable, if I can handle pressure. Nothing crazy. But then came the part that actually mattered.

Reaction tests

I was sitting there with buttons in front of me, colors flashing on the screen, and I had to react. Press the right button, fast. First just colors. Then they added sounds. Left, right. And after that even pedals. So now it was hands, feet, everything at once. I had never done anything like that before.

And honestly – it was exciting.

The result

I scored like a boss. Even the doctor told me I had very, very good reaction skills. Based on both parts of the test – the written one and the reaction tests – I received my first official card.

I was proud of myself.

I had a psychological certificate from a specialist saying I was fit to work as a professional driver. The first step was done. These truck driver psychological tests showed me that I was ready for something bigger.

And it felt amazing.
